Corey Kent – Heartland Rock and Roll [LP]

Heartland Rock and Roll is a sound forged by growing up in the middle of nowhere Oklahoma and building a life on the Texas plains. Its a faded pair of stonewashed jeans, a Sunday ride on a motorbike, and a hat-down-low cowboy song around a campfire. Its a cup of coffee while you watch the sunrise. Its a deep breath as you take in the sunset on the great wide open. Its a way of living life unaffected by the trends. Its being ok with standing out when the crowds just trying to fit in. Its the perfect blend of gratitude and ambition. Its watching your kids drink from the hose and sitting around talking life with a few good friends. Its holding the hand of the girl you love and knowing that the grass aint greener because it aint yours. It pulls influences from all over. From the Eagles and CCR, to Mellencamp and Springsteen. From Stapleton to Chief and Kings of Leon to Turnpike. Its the common thread of the rattle of a beat up, hand-me-down guitar, the sting of a telecaster, & the pulsing of the drums delivering honest, unfiltered songs about real life.Heartland Rock and Roll is embracing the simple, everyday life, knowing its a life worth living. Its choosing peace of mind because its just worth more to you than fame and fortune. Its rolling the windows down and getting lost in the moment. Its music for real people living real life. The ups. The downs. And the in-betweens.
