Behemoth, the titans of Polish blackened death metal, deliver a relentless sonic assault with their 2008 EP, Ezkaton. Released via Regain Records, this seven-track collection serves as a bridge between their monumental The Apostasy era and their subsequent evolution, showcasing the bands mastery of razor-sharp guitar shredding and heavy, thundering percussion.

The EP features a diverse tracklist that highlights both the band’s creative growth and their respect for the genre’s roots. It includes the standout new studio track “Qadosh,” alongside a refreshed studio version of the fan favorite “Chant for Ezkaton 2000 e.v.” Fans of Behemoths ferocious stage presence will appreciate the inclusion of three live recordings: “From the Pagan Vastlands,” “Decade Ov Therion,” and a live rendition of the title track.

Rounding out the release are two unexpected and professionally executed covers:

• “Jama Pekel” A tribute to Czech black metal legends Masters Hammer, featuring guest appearances by members of Root.
• “I’m Not Jesus” A blackened death metal reimagining of the classic Ramones track.

Whether you are a completist or a newcomer to the bands technical and atmospheric style, Ezkaton is an essential piece of extreme metal history that captures Behemoth at the height of their modern era.
